Scenes From The Weekend

Hello There!

Hope you had a delightful weekend.
We had a lovely one.
We were planning on taking the girls camping as a
'welcome summer surprise'
but . . . .

 it was another soggy one.

So we did the next best thing

 and camped in the backyard.

I experimented with pie crust again

and made our own version of pop tarts.
Mmmmm  . . .mmmm another keeper!

(If you ever hear me complain about my pudge curves,
kindly suggest I stop eating things for breakfast that involve pie crust and fried dough.)

I took advantage of that rainy weather,

and accomplished some household tasks- like painting a room.

 I read . . .
 an entire book!
I may have stayed up WAY TOO late on Friday.

When the rain slowed down a bit

 we headed outside.
Josh was getting his bike ready for his first ride of the season.
The girls LOVE riding with him in the front yard.

It won't be too long before they have their own little bike.
Oh dear . . .

I was able to get a wee bit of planting in.

And then it started to rain again.

"Mommy!  I can catch the rain!"

Oh the joy of a 2 year old.

It's my first Monday with no school.
I think I'll start another book.

Hope you have a joyful day!

I'm linking up with the sweet Carissa

miscellany monday at lowercase letters

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend! We got a little sandbox awning project done Saturday and then by Sunday decided we really need a bigger sandbox...so better add that to the list! And funny that y'all camped outside, I was just telling my husband we need to get a tent and have a backyard camp out sometime!

P.S. LOVE my new aqua blooms. They came on Saturday and are beautiful! Thanks.

  2. You camped in the backyard? Of course you did - you and your family are too cute! Can't wait to camp with Wyatt in our backyard {when we have a house someday}. When are you going to reveal the "after" of that room you painted?

    xo.

  7. Your pop tarts look so yummy! I saw a recipe for them but I haven't tried them yet! I've always wanted to camp in my backyard {is that a pathetic want or what?}! Yay for painting and reading! Did you paint it lime green? That's my favorite color! I used to read books in one day all the time, but lately I've barely read anything at all. :)

  8. That sounds like SUCH a perfect weekend! We had crazy rain here in Pennsylvania this weekend also! It was funny because earlier in the week it had been 90 degrees and sunny : ) and then the weekend hit and it was 60 and pouring. Your pie crust pop tart sounds so incredibly heavenly. I would like to eat one right now : )
