The girls and I are reading through Proverbs 31 this year.
If you're not familiar with this chapter in the bible,
it illustrates what a godly woman is.
The text book we're using is Polished Cornerstones
It has been so good for all of us.
We have been focusing on verse 13 for a few weeks now
She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.
The text talks about teaching our daughters skills they will need in their adulthood.
So I decided to teach them to sew.
But as Kaitlyn sweetly pointed out
"But Mommy, you don't know how to sew."
True, true
But I can handle the beginning projects just fine
and I look forward to NEEDING
to practice with a sewing machine
so I can teach the girls.
This is going to be an adventure!
Our first project was quite simple,
but the girls thoroughly enjoyed it.
I just had them hand-sew a small heart to a larger heart.
We clothes-pinned them to some twine
and hung it in our window.
Oh I just love those sweet little stitches.
The girls had fun and are eager to learn more.
Wish me luck as I attempt to use my sewing machine next.
It's never too late to learn a new skill!
