Another Christmas First- A Gingerbread House!

Merry Christmas!

When I was filling out activities for our advent stockings
I must have been feeling wild and crazy because I said we would make a gingerbread house.
We've never made a gingerbread house.
It's always intimidated me.
And seemed so messy.
I always imagined the frustration of frosting not  holding the walls together and droopy candy.
But, I decided to try it.
For the love of the Christmas season!

I did cheat a wee bit.
I bought a kit.
So all the walls were baked for me.
And I also used my hot glue gun to fasten the walls.
Oh yeah baby, no wimpy walls in this gingerbread house.

Josh was at a meeting, so it was just us girls at the construction cite.

Kaitlyn, my future photographer, captured a few action shots.

 Um . . . yeah.
This picture motivated me to do my hair today and gussy up a bit.

 Isn't she pretty?
I am no longer afraid of the frosting mess.
We will definitely add this to our Christmas traditions.

Hope you have a delightful weekend
with plenty of sweet moments!

  2. sooooooo, guess what we did last night? yep. guess if it was homeade or from a kit? yep. guess if it was the same exact kit? yep. yep. yep. seriously feeling like we've tapped into similar brain waves or something!!

  3. Oh Amy what FUN at your house, I want to come and play!!! The girls are so amazing, the concentration on their faces while decorating their gingerbread house was priceless.

  4. when hank is older I'm going to prevent him from reading your blog so that he doesn't know that you're a way better parent than me.
