Dumpster Diving Diva

Ok, I'm not really a diva, but I have been known to dig some goodies out of my hubbie's dump trailer.
Josh is in the middle of a remodel and came home with a trailer full of old wood.
So yes, I put my gloves on and jumped right in.
He is a very very patient man.

I spotted these little slats of chippy red wood

and knew they needed a new life.

So I pried those lil' puppies off, plugged in my hubbies nail gun and went to work.
Can I just say that nothing makes this girl feel more like a stud than using a power tool
ALL BY MYSELF.
I made them into rustic stars!

Then I spotted this little door

Now I KNOW many of you have pinned the same picture that inspired my new life for this door.

Perfection right?

Mine did not turn out nearly as cute,

but it definitely added a fun pop of color in my space.

I have a few more stashes of 'saved' wood
that I hope to play with in the next couple of weeks.

Dumpster diving,
so very 'green' of me right?
HA!

But today, I will be celebrating with my oldest daughter who turns NINE today.

There will be lots of sugar involved.
And probably some nail polish.

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!
We LOVE you!

  6. Your space looks so pretty! You did a great job on the "joy" sign! It's funny because I too, pinned that awhile back and it's been on my brain lately to duplicate! Just need to find the right piece of wood. I opened up a little space in an antique shop last week. Any pointers from a veteran like yourself?
