Hanging On To Fall

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I have a busy busy week ahead, and I'm not quite ready for it.
Ya know the feeling?

Even though our weekend looked like this

We're trying to hang on to Fall as long as possible.

So even though all the leaves have fallen from our trees, we created our very own for our classroom.

First we painted coffee filters in fallish colors.

If you sprinkle salt on them when they're still wet, it will make them all speckley like real leaves.

After cutting them into leaf shapes, we've been daily adding them to our tree.

When the kids are feeling a little frustrated or grumpy, I have them think of something they're grateful for and add it to the branches.

It helps to refocus good attitudes.

So even though it's looking more Christmasy outside, we're hanging on to Fall on the inside.

And on a side note, I made these yummy things for a group of special ladies who came over Friday night

Just another attempt to hang on to Fall.

You should make some.
It's fun to have your own individual pie.
I followed the directions from THIS gal.

And the girls and I may have had pumpkin pie for breakfast on Saturday.

Have a marvelous Monday!
