Hello Monday.
You always come too quickly.
My kiddoes feel the same way.
So I try to make Monday mornings a little sweeter with a little home-baked action.
The quickest breakfast for me to make is muffins.
I've made these so much I think I could make them in my sleep- most of the time I am still half asleep!
I use a simple plain-Jane recipe straight from the red and white checked cookbook.
Sometimes I'll add blueberries or smash up some bananas, but this time I made what my girls call 'sugar-top' muffins.
They get their name from this simple dunking method:
After muffins are baked, dip the tops in melted butter and then coat in cinnamon sugar.
Yum.
(If you need a plain-Jane muffin recipe, you can click HERE for a printable version I use from the Better Homes and Garden cookbook.)
And if you have a busy morning, these muffins are just as tasty baked the night before and heated up in the mornin'.
I hope you have a sweet start to your week!
AND . . . since I can hardly pick a name from the 2 cuties who left a comment on Friday, I'm going to send a garland to both of you!
Yippeeeee!
Ladies, be sure to email me with your mailing address!

ReplyDeleteI do not understand why Monday is always in such a hurry to come.
I have the same red and white checked cookbook that was my grandmothers...
Yum! I can almost taste thT crunchy buttery sugar!
ReplyDeleteI like to do the same thing to ease the transition to that rude Monday. Your muffins look delicious!
ReplyDeleteOh, how do you eat just one? Looks fabulous, my dear Betty Crocker friend!
