Do you feel it?
Oh the excitement of the Christmas season is upon us!
Just like every year, the day after Thanksgiving is a Christmas extravaganza in our home.
We blare Christmas music, untangle twinkle lights, and deck the halls!
It truly is a magical time of year.
Also on the list is chopping down our Christmas tree.
So we bundled up and headed into the woods with our favorite people.
I am SO thankful our girls get to grow up with their cousins.
They truly are the best of friends.
(notice all the 'hunter's orange? ' Yesterday was the close of the season)
We sledded
Warmed up with hot chocolate and apple pie pockets.
And of course found the perfect trees.
I have a crush on this lumber jack
It was the perfect way to start the Christmas season!
So how did you spend your weekend?
Have you started your Christmas shopping?
I realize some of you are smiling with the satisfaction of knowing you are done.
Not me.
I haven't started, not a single one.
I know,
I need to get on it.
If you know me, you know I truly love to make things.
And I equally love to receive a home-made gift.
There is something so special knowing someone thought of you and created something just for you.
I mentioned the other day that my dear friend Alicia is hosting a super fun homemade gift giving series.
You absolutely need to go check it out.
Alicia started the series out by making the sweetest clay ornaments. I can't wait to get the supplies to make them myself.
Yesterday Melissa showed how to sew the cutest little gift bags.
And today I'm showing how to embroider a fun little ornament.
So head on over and check out all the fun!
Merry Christmas season to you!
That tree your lumberjack cut down is pretty much my dream Christmas tree! I love your ornament for Alicia's series, too!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! That tree is perfect! And I just saw your ornament post and love it. Such sweet little stitches. I want to give it a try. Have fun decking the halls!
ReplyDeleteOh, what fun and what wonderful memories for your children, and for you and Hubby as well. Well, I am through with my shopping, I did 80% of it via the internet, so it didn't take long. I finished the decorating today, so we are "go to go." But, Hubby and I didn't go cut our tree but he would absolutely love to do that. :o) Blessings for the season!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun ornament to always remember! Love that it symbolizes your affection for your home! And I love that you love it here! Oh, and I love you! (heee...heee...feeling quite lovey right now) ;-)
