So Long Sassy Brass!

On my regular trips to the thrift store 

I often come across the same ol' things.

Lots of mugs and figurines.

Piles of holiday tin canisters.

And lots of brass lamps.

I'm not a fan of the sassy brass look.

But recently I transformed a few and now I'm a fan of finding those ol' lamps.

Here's what my latest one looked like before her make-over.

After giving her a good scrub down she got a fresh coat of grey paint.

Then I tackled the shade.

 Bye Bye Boring Beige!

 I decided to cover her in vintage dictionary pages.

And it was about at this point (with my fingers stuck together with Mod Podge), when I wondered if I had made a good choice.

But there was no turning back.

Here's how she turned out

Tadah!

Now she's still sassy, but not in a 1980's sort of way.

Now if I can just figure out how to  make all those 

porcelain figurines cool.
