Friday Fun!

Happy Friday My Friends!
Hope you're all enjoying a lovely long weekend.
I can't wait to tell you all about mine . . . but that will have to wait.
I have something SUPER fun for you this Friday!

I have a friend who is very near and dear to my heart.
I met Jen a few years ago when our oldest kids were in kindergarten together.

We connected on so many levels- she just gets me.
When ever I spend any time with this girl I laugh till it hurts and usually cry with a heart felt conversation.
She recently opened an Etsy shop with the most AMAZING jewelry!

(Blogger is being a booger and not letting me post pictures of her magnificent stuff )

But . . . .  You need to go take a look for yourself!

I asked Jen a few questions so you could get to know her too.

1.  What led you to making jewelry and wanting to have a shop?At the New Year a friend had posted on Facebook, "The next 5 people to sign up, I will make them something homemade.  Only catch, you have to post this as well and it must be homemade!"  I love making, creating, or baking what ever seasonal project is pinned the most, so I thought this would be a fun task.  Once I decided mailing heart shaped muffins wouldn't be the best idea, I started digging deeper & discovered what made me happy.  {Hello jewelry.}  When I started a few months ago, it was with simple rings.  I wasn't expecting it to go beyond the gift giving, nor was I expecting to have so much fun!  Now things have evolved to more unique designs that allow me to be creative and having a shop felt like the next step.  It is still a work in progress kind of shop, but it feels good to have something to tend to!

2.  What inspires you/ your creations?
Browsing thrift stores.  I love vintage, so seeing old accessories or old sweaters, give me ideas of what color combinations work.
Audrey Hepburn.  A classic gal, with endless style.
Trips down memory lane.  Thumbing through family photo albums and seeing the way my grandparents lived just makes my heart swoon & my head spin.

My husband.  He is so creative and has such an amazing work ethic.  I love that he can think of something, build it, and the final outcome is beyond what I could ever imagine.
Things of the past inspire me, but the people in my life move me.

3.  What is your future hope for Sweet Elegance?
That it will grow to the point that I will be able to hire a photographer:) Ahh, some day!  For now, I hope that it will have a steady growth to support my new ideas (or the ones I have started and stopped to try something else!!).  I always want to be able to add new items, but being an accountant by day keeps me practical and thinking, "If they buy, then I can create more!"  Boring, but practical.

4.  Being a busy mom, how do you find time to create?
Late nights or early mornings mostly.  But, I do enjoy working side by side my 3 kiddos.  I think it's important for them to see me doing something that brings me joy & for them to know that you should love what you do, because it will show in your work!

5.  What have you loved most about starting your shop?
That it reflects who I am beyond my 9 to 5 day.  It has been an outlet for me to keep learning and growing.

I absolutely LOVE wearing her jewelry.
And I know YOU will love wearing it too!

On this fun Friday, you have the chance to win this purty lil' necklace

Take a lil' visit to her Facebook page for one entry
(and be sure to 'like' her)
and take a shopping trip to her Etsy Shop and tell me what you fell in love with for another entry.
We'll draw a name on Tuesday.
Weeeeeeeee!

**** This Give-Away is now closed******
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
