I am thankful.
Truly deeply thankful.
But . . . to be honest
sometimes it's hard to have a thankful heart.
Which is ridiculous because I am
SO STINKIN' BLESSED.
It's in these moments that I turn to my bible and am reminded to:
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16
So when I'm feeling frustrated by the
never-ending
crumbs on the floor
I will choose to be thankful and rejoice for the precious hands that made the crumbs.
When I'm feeling overwhelmed by my home that will never be as clean as I wish it to be.
I will choose to be thankful and rejoice for my four little helpers that God blessed me with.
When I'm feeling worn out from the demands of homeschooling
I will choose to be thankful and rejoice that God guided me to this adventure and rest assured that I'm not doing it alone.
When I'm feeling envious of a friend's home
I will choose to be thankful and rejoice for my sweet, warm, plenty big enough home.
When I feel like complaining that my husband is so busy.
I will choose to be thankful and rejoice that he is busy with work while so many others are heart-achingly searching for work.
I have been
GIVEN SO MUCH
to be thankful for.
I will rejoice with my whole heart.
My prayers go out to those who will feel the
emptiness of a chair
this Thanksgiving.
May you feel His comfort.
I am so thankful for the beautiful friends and family who daily bless me.
